What's Up Hampton Roads is a podcast created by LaVerne Avant who you may remember from her former website called LaVerneAroundTown.com.

She has lived in Hampton Roads all of her life and for several years have explored her community while using a motorized scooter. She (and her son Jordon) have faced many challenges. She was born with Cerebral Palsy and Jordon has autism but they can be found at various events throughout Hampton Roads.

She gets around the cities and wants to tell you about some of her favorite places that are family friendly while being little or no cost.

It is her goal for this podcast to share with the people of Hampton Roads—as well as anyone who wishes to visit here—her acquired knowledge of the many “hidden” treasures of Hampton Roads.

Whether or not someone has mobility challenges or whatever the issue you still can gain great information about the cost effective places and events that are found around Hampton Roads.
