This week I sat down the the co-founder and leader of the movement #ChangeRapeCulture, Kimiya Factory, in an effort to learn more about why amplifying Black voices and becoming better advocates of the #BlackLivesMatter movement, is crucial to their livelihood.
Saturday, June 6, 2020, Kimiya is leading an event called #PaintForFloyd, where community members can come and paint murals for Black lives that have been lost in San Antonio. Also, this day, Kimiya will be meeting with San Antonio Mayor, Ron Nirenberg, with a list concerns she'd like to be addressed in the city. Feel free to reach out to her if you'd like to voice your concerns as well.
Sunday, June 7, 2020, Kimiya will be joining other organizers at Milam Park in downtown San Antonio for a vigil. Any donations made at this event will be given to the families of those who've lost their lives as a result of racist aggression.
