imageYou see that map there? That's 1930's London. I wrote about Trail of Cthulhu and Bookhounds of London here. Pelgrane Press' Bookhounds of London contains 18 pages of sectioned maps of London (along with many other maps). One of the main additions to Bookhounds that doesn't appear in Trail of Cthulhu is the use of Megapolisomancy, a sort of city-based magic that, to my knowledge, was introduced by Fritz Leiber in his book "Our Lady of Darkness". Having read "Our Lady of Darkness" before picking up Bookhounds I was appropriately primed to completely love it.Anyway, since Megapolisomancy requires a sort of patterned use of locations in a city, I felt that, in order to properly use it, it required a really big map, something which you don't normally get in a game book. However, being the photoshop novice that I am, and looking at the 18 pages in the book, I thought, "Yeah, I can do this". So I stitched them together for personal use. This is an extremely small version, just to share with you. It's about 9% of actual size. So my version is huge (28 inches x28 inches) and looks amazing at full resolution, let me tell you.imageIt's not perfect, the pages don't line up exactly but it is good enough for me. I don't own it, I just put it together, so don't ask me for it. Also, If Pelgrane asks me to take it down, I will comply.imageHowever, in my personal version, which is a hell of a lot bigger, I'm going through and adding in all of the "locations of occult significance" listed in the The Book of the Smoke. The Book of the Smoke is an amazing supplement to Bookhounds of London, it was written by Paula Dempsey from the point of view of Augustus Darcy, a sort of occult historian. It is set in the 1930's and is amazing. I'm also working on a google maps version of the "locations of occult significance" from the The Book of the Smoke" so if you're interested in viewing that or even assisting me in making it ,or perhaps you know of one already been made *squee*, just send me a message.image image imageimage
