After discovering this show, I doubled back to listen to every episode. I. Love. This. Podcast. The host, Nora McInerny, interviews people about the worst thing that's happened in their lives. For a show about grief, it's surprisingly fun? Nora's hosting style is witty, insightful, empathetic, and accepting. Yet she's also able to bring in humor, so despite the weight of the topics, the show itself is more reflective of life overall: it is bright and dark, heavy and light, amusing and devastating. I'm not sure if I'd call it a balance, but rather a mixture - a fruit salad rather than a smoothie, if you will - where there's enough room for all the feelings.I actually think listening to this show has made me a better podcast host, and I know it's made me a better person. It's coming back from its own season break soon, so now is a great time to scroll through the older episodes, try out one or two that interest you, and get listening!
