This podcast is well put together and has substance. It, unfortunately, draws from a zero-sum, false dichotomy. The critique of parents who push and value a French program is intellectually dishonest. The statement that because some white parents value French therefore Spanish, Arabic, and others do not have value is the wrong argument. Because one person values a thing does not affect the value of anything else. Also, the agreement to have a prominent French program is what brought the new students (and funding) the Principal was seeking. The new students and money were what was improving the school, even according to your story. This is an entertaining podcast but its frustrating because there is so much intellectual dishonesty.
