Obviously, listening to the Somme episodes, there will be highlights of British mistakes. But can't help but feel there is a strong bias from the author, the Germans, French and even Australians fought well and bravely, but the author seems to forget to mention how bravely the Brits fought. Have not listened to more than the somme episodes yet, so will give it a try. But to me there seems to be bias undertones, the French were brave and that seems to be the implication to why they did better than the British on the first days of the somme, with little reference to them fighting weaker German lines. When the British have a successful attack, the source used is one which comments on the German bravery by their officers, would like a more neutral perspective.
