Supernatural mystery horror, following a professor after his missing father's badge is found in the woods. The first season's plot doesn't have much in the way of unique elements or distinctive uses of them, making use of missing persons, spooky forests, and the skeptic vs believer dynamic. The main character's skepticism becomes a bit tiring, like he's actively resisting plot progression, though the reason behind it is explained. The tension between him and the deuteragonist in how they express their grief kept me interested in their relationship when their conversations circled back to the same boring debate regarding the existence of the supernatural, the lore of which expands in season 2 and defines more of the stakes. The production and performances add life into the script, which can get bogged down with boring repetitive exposition. The sound design creates some tense and atmospheric moments. The voice acting and direction is good for the most part, especially for the protagonist and deuteragonist, and lends to some good emotional scenes and family moments (this is also where the written dialogue is strongest).
