80 Days wins my award for best theme music but does the content live up to the tune?I’m happy to say yes it does. The three hosts have wonderful Irish accents that are lovely to listen to but they do seem to be situated around the globe which is perfect when talking about every country in the world but I do think this can sometimes effect the sound quality a little bit in early episodes however not too severely. Each episode Joe, Luke and Mark explore the lesser known corners of the world such as Lesotho, the Kuril Islands, Namibia and Turkmenistan to name a few. They divide up the research finding interesting characters, events and history about each place and their website contains a useful episode map which is a great idea: https://80dayspodcast.com/episode-map/ You will notice a trend of the British invading nearly every place they speak about (that’s the fault of the British, not the hosts!) but they dig much deeper than that uncovering some genuinely interesting facts.I’d highly recommend this to anyone who enjoys learning about different, often less spoken about, cultures and generally exploring the world and history.
