Dr. Jason Farman is a psychologist. He is an Associate Professor of American Studies at the University of Maryland College Park, where he is also the Director of the Design Cultures and Creativity Program. He is also a faculty member with the Human-Computer Interaction Lab.Farman is author of "Delayed Response: The Art of Waiting from the Ancient to the Instant World," which was published in 2018, and "Mobile Interface Theory: Embodied Space and Locative Media," which was published in 2012. He has published articles on mobile technologies, digital maps and cultural geography, locative and site-specific art, video games, digital storytelling, performance art, social media, and surveillance.Farman received his Ph.D. in Performance Studies and Digital Media from the University of California, Los Angeles.
